The final of the WPT Mijas-Costa del Sol Open witnessed an unprecedented match: the first important final for 21-year-old Franco Stupaczuk, and the return of Cristian Gutierrez. Mati Diaz and Maxi Sanchez won the first set, but the Argentinians were not ready to leave empty-handed. The epic duel was decided in a thrilling third set with a 5-7/6-4/6-4, a final result that gave Victory, with a capital V, to Franco and Cristian.
In semi-finals, the Argentinians, one from the region of Chaqueña and the other one from Mar del Plata, fought a duel against Miguel Lamperti and Juani Mieres. Our players offered a first-level show and we experienced one of our most exciting days in NOX.
Gemma Triay and Lucia Sainz lost in quarter-finals against Ariana Sánchez and Martita Ortega. Both double's teams offered a fantastic master class during the match. The team reached semi-finals, showing they are at their best moment after their victory in the Murcia Challenger.
